Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Planning and consultation
We offer two ways to start your project. The best option depends on where you are in your decision-making process:
Showroom consultation (free): This is ideal for initial planning. Visit us to see working skylight models, compare different Australian-made materials, and get free, one-on-one design advice from our experts. There is no charge and no obligation.
In-home consultation ($89): This is an investment in quality when you're ready for a precise assessment. It includes a full roof assessment, expert style advice tailored to your space, and a detailed, fixed-price quote. The $89 fee is fully credited against your final installation order, ensuring the highest quality project from day one.
In most cases, no, provided the installation does not involve structural changes to the roof (like altering trusses) or change the roof pitch. However, requirements can vary based on your local council (e.g., heritage areas, or if you're installing a new roof access hatch). We recommend checking with your local council or speaking to your installer.
The right choice depends on the room's function, orientation, and size. As a rule of thumb, the glazed area of the skylight should be roughly 5-10% of the room's floor area to provide comfortable, balanced light. Our experts will confirm the perfect fit during your consultation.
Product and performance
Not if the correct glazing is used. Modern skylights use Low-E (low-emissivity) double-glazing which is highly effective at blocking solar heat (UV rays) while letting light through. This technology keeps heat out in summer and locks warmth in during winter, ensuring excellent thermal performance year-round.
Leaks are often a sign of poor installation, not product failure. We eliminate this risk through our expertise: we use quality Australian flashings appropriate for your specific roof type, and every installation is backed by our 10-Year Workmanship Guarantee against leaks.
Yes, we specialise in solutions for flat roofs and low-pitched roofs, including custom designs. We use specific products, such as curb-mounted or dome-style skylights, that ensure correct water run-off and prevent pooling around the seal.
Absolutely. We design, manufacture, and install custom-made skylights tailored precisely to non-standard openings or unique design requirements. This includes large architectural installations and custom roof windows.
Installation and process
For a standard, same-size skylight replacement or installation in an existing roof, the work is usually completed in less than one day. More complex or custom installations may require additional time, which will be specified in your detailed quote.
This is our firm promise covering the quality of our installation. It means that if there is an issue with the way we fitted the skylight—such as a leak or structural defect related to our work—we will return and fix it free of charge for 10 full years from the date of installation.
Yes. Our Complete Skylight Solution includes the safe removal and disposal of all old materials, packaging, and debris. We ensure your home is left clean and tidy once the job is complete.
We offer both. We can provide you with a Complete Skylight Solution that includes both supply and expert installation. Alternatively, if you are a builder or have your own installer, you can purchase high-quality skylights and materials directly from our wholesale store.
